For my part, Padam and Wendy, were like family. My father, Robert Smith, was a friend since I was in my single digits. My sisters, Inga and Vivienne with myself were in their company, it now seems, many times more than i can remember.
He gave me a pair of Indian silk trousers when i was maybe 11? Fitted like a glove. I loved those. Padam had Ben Crenshaw, the golfer, as a tennent once in the mid 80s, as he prefered to rent a home rather than stay in a hotel. Padam told the story of Crenshaw asking him if he had any suggestions about how he could improve his approach ti the game, in which Padam remarked, “Good God, your a millionaire, you dont need my advice.”

When my Father passed away, I drove to New Gilston, to let them know he had died. It helped to listen to his reasoning, he talked about how when someone dies the emotions you feel are like a part of a computer is missing and the brain doesnt function properly.
I have lived in the US for the past 27 years now but my childhood menories will always have Padam and Wendy in them . RIP Padam.
